Sometimes experiences generate promises, these promises become hopes and the hopes gradually lead to a new reality.
THE JOURNEY
In the year 2000, Rosaria was diagnosed with lung cancer and I became involved in an arduous battle that would last nine years, during which time our crossed with Dr Antonio Santo and his team.
Hence my pledge that Rosaria's passing would give rise to a project based on love.
The great humanity, dedication and altruism that we have come to know became a source of hope for us and for our families.
We have chosen to share and increase this hope by creating this nonprofit organisation, with the aim of financing projects to develop and improve the care of thoracic oncology patients..
OUT PROJECT
LUNG UNIT PESCHIERA

The LUNG UNIT project was launched in November 2020.
The aims of this project are to improve patients' quality of life, their prospects of clinical benefit and survival. By optimising patient access to Thoracic Oncology, we reduce the need for access to the Emergency Department, as well as the number of admissions to other departments and unplanned specialist visits. Finally, we ensure prompt access to oncology consultations when acute oncology issues arise for patients undergoing active treatment.

Dr Antonio Santo has been appointed national vice-president of FONICAP, the National Interdisciplinary Task Force against Lung Cancer, and national head of the commission deciding future multicentric studies on lung cancer within FONICAP.

TAX DEDUCTIBILITY
Fondazione Maria Rosaria Onlus is listed as a NONPROFIT organisation by the Italian Revenue Agency. As a nonprofit organisation, donations to the Fondazione Maria Rosaria are deductible for income tax declaration purposes. Both individuals and companies can deduct donations in cash or in kind made to Onlus organisations from their income. The amount of the donation cannot exceed 10% of the total declared income and in any case up to a maximum of 70,000 euros per year (art. 14 paragraph 1 of DL n. 35/2005 converted into Law n. 80/2005).
